Installation of digital CCTV security cards should be simple... save your valuable time...
Any good digital CCTV security card/software package should include a straightforward and comprehensive User Manual/Installation Guide.Only consider digital CCTV security boards that meet the following mimumum specifications:
- WindowsXP as the operating platform - by far the most stable Windows environment
- Selectable reording resolutions - 320 x 240 and 640 x 480 as a minimum
- Selectable recording frame rates for each camera
- Triplex operation - you should be able to view, record & playback simultaneously
- Programmable video motion detection for each camera with zone masking
Usually a Celeron 2.4GHz or better processor is minimum with Pentium chips preferred for higher frame rate cards. Minimum 256MB of DDR RAM although 512MB is becoming the norm. For 2 weeks recording, available storage should be at least 120GB for a 4 channel system. An easy rule of thumb for storage is to allow 30GB per camera. Therefore a 16 channel system would need about 480GB. However if you plan to record in high resolution, be sure to check with the manufacturer as this will greatly increase the storage requirements.
Your digital video capture card package should include the dvr board, software CD, dongle cables with BNC type video connectors and the User Manual.
